COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE END OF THE 9TH DEEJAYS NATIONAL CONFERENCE

COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT  THE END OF THE 9TH DEEJAYS NATIONAL CONFERENCE, HELD BETWEEN 6TH - 9TH, NOVEMBER, 2016, AT  IBADAN, OYO STATE.

At the end of a robust conference and deliberations,  the following were the summed up highlights and decisions reached as all States in the six geopolitical zones were  represented, including the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Abuja.



 The house witnessed  presentations by;

1. Lead Way Insurance Company gave an insight on the need for insurance as a DeeJay.

2. DSP Abdul Raheem Kolawole, who represented the AIG Oyo State Arm of the Nigerian Police Force, gave  insight on Security Consciousness for Deejays.  He harped on  salient areas of concerns to Deejays, such as; Screening  Invitation, Inquire Security alertness on venue, early Set out, Object Alert and many more.

3. DeeJay KSpark delivered a lecture on Djing to Succees.

4. A representative from New Generational Sound Engineering  gave  insight on sound engineering and its advantages to a professional service delivery.

5. Dj Semite,  a Senior colleague in the industry who was a major sponsor on the conference, gave a brief lecture on the theme; The Nigerian Economy and Deejaying to Success.

6. The National  Secretary, DJ Desert Storm  analysed  the Memorandum of Understanding ( MoU)  Synergy with the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON) practically viz a viz  the details  on the MoU. climaxing  with a question and answer segment. In furtherance to that, the Task Force Movement of DJAN in all States was also detailed. Moreso, the Assistant National Secretary,  DJ Sunny-Ice also gave a brief illustration on Tasks Force activities and implementations in accordance with the MoU with COSON.


HIGHPOINT OF THE 9TH DEEJAYS NATIONAL CONFERENCE


An Executive and Stakeholders section held  and critically discussed  issues and factors militating  the speedy growth and development of the  Association, which also included the  sudden pull out of the Lagos Chapter from the movement. After a robust deliberation,  the house resolved that;

1. The Lagos Chapter was reinstated back to the National Movement. It should be forgotten that such a thing ever happened.

2. Such act will not be tolerated from any other Chapter henceforth, as it will be met with the full weight of the law.

3. All documents meant for the Secretariat work should be collected by the Secretary from Lagos Chapter for facilitation of Secretariat work.

4. Copies of the signed MoU be  collected and distributed to all Chapters immediately through the Zonal Coordinators.

5. All States should carefully study the MoU for immediate implementation with support from the National Executives through the National Secretariat.

6. All States should submit without delay, the list of all registered members for onward facilitation of their National ID cards, COSON permits, letter of affiliations and other documents to  member Chapters as this will also reflect on the new DJAN official website.

7.  Based on the MoU, all States are to collect ten thousand naira only from registered members for COSON permit;  eight thousand naira of such money is to be credited in bulk to DJAN account for COSON permit  while the balance of two thousand naira is to be credited into such State's  account.

8. Registration after the grace month of November will attract  additional thirty thousand naira only.

10. A total restructuring is to take effect on the National portal as regards participants and modus operandi.  The new Rules and guidelines for  participation on the National Portal on the social media app, Wattsapp will be made official on the portal on the 16th of November, 2016.

 

APPRECIATION

Special recognition and appreciation is at this point, bestowed on the Oyo State Government, the Executives and Members of the Association in Oyo State, the  LOC in Ibadan, the Nigeria Police, Veteran DJ Semite and company.

Special appreciations also to  all State delegates and observers at the conference.

Very special appreciation to all stakeholders that stayed all night  at the conference to restore peace and unity to the movement.   And finally, series of encomiums is forwarded to the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON) for the historic synergy with DJAN and to all members of the National Executives of DJAN.


Adjournment:
Jos, Plateau State  was unanimously adopted as the next State to host the 10th National Conference cum National election comes up in  May, 2017.
