In response to the most recent attack at Odogunyan by the notorious Badoo syndicate, Hon. Agunbiade S.O.B has expressed his displeasure:
'The attack, reported to have been unleashed by the Badoo syndicate on a household at Odogunyan yesterday, Tuesday 28th June is unfortunate and condemn-able.
To have murdered yet another set of people in cold blood and leaving others in very critical conditions is not only barbaric but highly ungodly. I commiserate with members of the neighbourhood where this incident occurred.
Let me assure you all, that the State Government is working seriously to curtail this ugly incident. While the House of Assembly through my motion, moved on 6th June 2017, resolved as follows:
This House:
*condemns the criminal and ungodly activities of Badoo Group in and around Ikorodu division;
*mandates the Committee on Information, Strategy and Security to invite Chairman and Principal Officials of the Neighbourhood Safety Corps for interactive discussion on their expected security duties in and around communities in the State, particularly the black spots;
*calls on Community Heads/Leaders, the Executive of Community Development Associations (CDA) as well as members of the public to assist law enforcement agents with credible and prompt information that will assist in preventing and tackling crime in their communities;
*calls on the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command to:
mobilize other security agencies in the State, investigate and expose the sponsors as well as masterminds of the daredevil group and prosecute those that have been arrested in connection with their nefarious activities,
*Site additional Police Area Command between Ikorodu and Epe in order to check criminal activities in the area, and
*directs local security outfits as well as the Neighbourhood Safety Corps of the State to commence aggressive and proactive surveillance in Ikorodu town and its environs, particularly the new sites;
Actions have been directed on all of the resolves both at the executive and legislative fronts.i am also aware of the concern and action plan of the Ayangburen to confront the issue traditionally. With all of these efforts, and persuaded by the huge investment of the state Government on security equipments for the Nigeria Police Force and the recently commissioned Lagos State Neighborhood Safety Corps, I am confident that the end to this barbarism is nearer than can be imagined.
While I want to appreciate the Commissioner of Police Lagos State for his prompt responses whenever contacted on security challenges, and those that have shown great concerns for the very few survivors of the bloodbath, I urge us all to be more security conscious in our neighborhoods and be guided in our discussing the whereabout of the lucky survivors on social media, you never can tell the extent of the masterminds - agents network. Let the survivors live to tell their stories. The family of the only survivors in the last attack are not neglected, I know. But good Samaritans could also help. It concerns us all.'
